For the Birds with Kevin Kling

Music Night in the Barn, 7:30 (doors open at 6:30)

As part of its ongoing musical events in the historic barn, the Anderson Center is pleased to present For the Birds, a wonderful evening featuring music by Zeitgeist and storytelling by acclaimed writer Kevin Kling. Scheduled for Saturday, March 12, 2016, 7:30 pm, For the Birds offers delightful chamber music and a worldview only humorist Kevin Kling can provide.

Co-written by composer Victor Zupanc and Kling, For the Birds features a series of musical pieces extolling the nature of birds, drawing parallels to our own human nature. Interspersed between are insightful stories created by Kling reflecting on childhood memories, illness, accidents, and healing—all coming together to create a memorable and enjoyable evening for all ages.

Born and raised in Osseo, Minnesota, Kevin Kling is one of the most beloved and celebrated voices of the American Heartland. Best known for his brilliantly comic storytelling commentaries on National Public Radio’s All Things Considered, he has been plunging audiences into his wonderfully offbeat world of animated stories for more than two decades. In 2009, the Anderson Center presented Kling with the A. P. Anderson Award for his outstanding contributions to the arts in Minnesota.
