“Trees of Thinkers” Photography Meet & Greet with Eva-Maria Schitter during Red Wing Area Studio Tour
Salzburg photographer Eva-Maria Schitter is sharing “Trees of Thinkers,” a series of silver gelatin photo prints, and participating in an artist meet & greet in the Tower View Barn on Saturday, July 29 from Noon to 3 p.m. during the Red Wing Area Studio Tour. Eva-Maria has spent the month of July in Red Wing as an artist-in-residence at the Anderson Center as part of the organization’s Salzburg-Minnesota Artist Exchange program with City of Salzburg, Austria.
Eva-Maria Schitter earned her MA in photography at the Linz University of the Arts and is currently engaged in PhD studies in the arts at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. Her work has been exhibited in Berlin and Vienna, as well as locations across Austria. A passion for exploration, new people and foreign places are at the heart of her photographic, documentary and audiovisual works.
At the Anderson Center, Eva-Maria has been focused on getting out and about with her camera top create new images. He goal has been to get outside her comfort zone, deconstruct habitual actions, and discover different perspectives and new approaches through her artwork.
During her meet and greet, Eva will also be sharing a running slideshow of images taken in Minnesota during her residency.
