Uche Okonkwo has an MFA in Fiction from Virginia Tech, and a master’s in Creative Writing from University of Manchester. Her work has been published in One Story, Ploughshares, The Best American Nonrequired Reading 2019, Lagos Noir, Ellipsis, Saraba, and others. She is a 2020-2021 George Bennett Fellow at Phillips Exeter Academy and the former managing editor at Kachifo Limited, one of Nigeria’s leading independent publishers. At the Anderson Center, Uche worked on her first short story collection, as well as a novella inspired by her participation in a 2016 trans-Nigerian road trip project with Invisible Borders that documented Nigeria’s history and diversity.
