Support artists and community at the Anderson Center Spring Soiree, a hybrid online and in-person silent auction that begins May 7 and concludes May 15, in conjunction with a distanced croquet tournament outdoors across the upper Tower View campus. With over 65 items, the Art Auction includes something for every art enthusiast, featuring both one-of-a-kind experiences and works of original art donated by alumni of the Anderson Center artist residency program, on-site studio artists, and other local & regional artists, as well as local businesses and arts organizations.
The Spring Soiree is a new annual fundraiser created to advance and accelerate the organization’s vision of a fully activated Tower View with year-round opportunities for people to engage with each other and with inspiring art. Proceeds from certain artworks donated by individual artists will be split 50/50 with the artists. All proceeds will benefit artists and the community through the Anderson Center’s flagship residency program and annual outreach events such as the 25th Anniversary Party in July.
Auction items include paintings by David Malcolm Scott, Art Kenyon, Lynn Brown, and Leslie Anne Stewart; photography by David Husom, Chap Achen, Alex Harris, Linnae Carlson (courtesy of Red Wing Framing), and Cristina Rollo; glass art by Chuck Granowski; prints by Tom Virgin, David Rickert, CB Sherlock, Richard Stephens, Kathryn Maxwell, Paula Schulze, and Kendra Gebbia; wood art by Chuck Donkers; ceramics by Kate Bouman; poetry by Ted Kooser (courtesy Copper Canyon Press) and Robert Hedin; jewelry by Emily Phillips and Nadine Nelson; workshops from Cynthia Weitzel, MN Center for Book Arts, and Sheila O’Connor; a gift card from Red Wing Shoes, books from Graywolf Press; and experiences from regional organizations Sheldon Theatre, Red Wing Arts, Minnesota Marine Art Museum, Rochester Art Center, Artistry in Bloomington, The Bakken Museum, Museum of Russian Art, and Chatfield Center for the Arts.
