2025 Historic Home Tour
Tour the Historic Georgian Revival Residence at Tower View! Guided tours depart at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm on Saturday, July 26 and at 1:30 pm on Sunday, July 27. The Tower View Residence was built in 1916-1917 by A.P. and Lydia Anderson and is on the National Register of Historic Places. This building is only open to the pubic once per year!
A six-bedroom, four-bathroom Georgian Revival style home, the Tower View Residence is one of twenty homes featured in Larry Millet’s 2014 book Minnesota’s Own: Preserving Our Grand Homes (Minnesota Historical Society Press). The home and campus have long been important parts of Red Wing’s historic charm. Tour participants will learn about the history of the innovative family who build the home and the artists, writers, & creators from across the globe who stay there today.
Members get more at the Anderson Center with FREE tours! Join today for $50 per year to receive two complimentary tour tickets. Guided tours depart for the home from the Main Entrance to the Galleries. Guests must be present and checked-in at the Main Entrance at least 5 minutes prior to their tour start time. Tours are 40 minutes in duration. Tours are not recommended for children aged 6 and under. General admission is $10 for adults and $7 for youth under 18.

Venue and Accessibility Information
Each tour is limited to 20 people. The tour guide’s voice will be amplified through a small, mobile speaker.
The Historic Residence is wheelchair accessible on the first floor. Wheelchair access is via a ramp leading to the screened porch entrance on the northwest side of the building Tower View Barn event space is accessed via an ADA compliant, interior ramp. There are handicap parking spaces available. While there is ample parking on the Anderson Center grounds, immediately adjacent parking is limited. If you do not need accessible parking, consider parking in the Anderson Center West Lot near the sculpture garden and enjoying the stroll through the Tower View site.
ASL interpretation is available upon request at least two weeks before the event.
