Doreen Baingana’s short story collection, Tropical Fish: Stories Out of Entebbe, was awarded the 2003 AWP Short Fiction Award, run by the Association of Writers and Writing Programs. Baingana worked on finishing a book of short stories about her time in Italy from 1989 to 1991 while at the Anderson Center.
