Emily Quandahl is a Minneapolis-based artist whose work sits at the intersection of painting and textile. Using deconstructed painted canvases, she incorporates hand-stitched quilting and embroidery as compositional elements, allowing abstraction to emerge through seams, grids, and subtle irregularities. Drawing from folk quilt patterns and domestic craft traditions, she approaches these structures as flexible guides rather than fixed systems, foregrounding the presence of the human hand and the balance between structure and looseness.
