Geer is the Director of the Early Intervention Studies Graduate Programs at Gallaudet University. She proudly identifies as Latina. Her early studies were in Kinesiology; a growing interest in motor learning and development led her to pursuing a Master’s Degree in Linguistics. She also serves as a Commissioner for the Commission on Collegiate Interpreter Education, is a Content Expert for Language First, and a Board Member of the America Board of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services.
