Anne Hughes

Hughes’ art is a meditative focus on life and the interconnectedness of

humanity, nature, and the cosmos. The process is, for the most part, intuitive: an unplanned evolution of color, imagery, and abstraction. She embraces surprises that occur along the way. With much thought and observation, she experiences shifts in perception that often point in new directions, enabling her to tap into the wonders and complexities of existence. At their most powerful, all aspects of process come together to “gel” into an expression both fixed and fluid. Here there is room for poetic interpretations.

While in residence Hughes will concentrate on developing a new body of work in oils.
