Rhea Nowak is a master printmaker based in upstate New York, where she is a Professor of Art and manages the print studio at State University of New York Oneonta. Rhea’s prints have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in the U.S., Europe, and China. Her work involves ideas of continuity, chance, and change, and draws from such sources as Buddhist philosophy, musical composition and current scientific theories.

Rhea utilized the etching press in the Granary Printmaking studio at Anderson Center to print copper drypoint plates and Japanese plywood woodcuts. The prints will form an artist’s book that integrate emerging ideas around weaving and the passage of time with Rhea’s on-going work around symbols and the natural environment. During her residency, Rhea is lead an accordion bookmaking activity at the Minnesota Children’s Book Festival.
