Originally from New Jersey, Sruthi is a fiction writer and aspiring novelist pursuing her MFA at the University of Minnesota. She has worked as a writing tutor and instructor for students K – 12. While earning her undergraduate degree at Wellesley College, Sruthi worked as a staff writer for the Wellesley News, researched Historical Linguistics and Computational Cognitive Science with graduate students at MIT and also spent time as an Editorial Intern at the Times of India, where she conducted research and interviews throughout various regions of Bangalore, India. Her fiction writing is very much couched in lived experience and truth. Set within the world of competitive classical Carnatic singing, Sruthi worked on a novel or collection of short stories around consent and karma as a broader form of justice. Sruthi partnered with Red Wing area community groups to connect with a small group of teens and young adults for a series of outdoor essays and creative writing workshops.
