Ucheoma Onwutuebe is a Nigerian writer pursuing an MFA at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. She is a 2019 Eli Cantor Fellowship recipient at The Corporation of Yaddo and the recipient of the 2022 Waasnode Fiction Prize. Her works have appeared in Prairie Schooner, Words Without Borders, Off Assignment, Brittle Paper, Bella Naija, and others.

At the Anderson Center, Ucheoma worked on a collection of short stories about female desire inspired by everyday women from her hometown in Nigeria. During her residency, she will connect with area BIPOC students for a memoir writing workshop, reading, and discussion.
