Antti J. Leinonen is a photographic artist/documentary photographer living in Ii, Finland. His work is based on social interactions, observations and coincidences. From resulting portraits, interiors, exteriors and details he builds freely associative and ambiguous visual narratives. In his works, Leinonen refers to self-sufficiency, global change, intergenerationalism, identity and empathy. He usually has a strong personal connection to the subjects he covers. Leinonen’s work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Canada.
During his residency, Leinonen worked with “The Sauna Belt” project. Leinonen also lead a workshop in partnership with the Lake City Area Arts Association.
