Born stateless on a U.S. military base in Seoul, Grace Jahng Lee is a writer/artist, community activist, and researcher whose socially engaged practice focuses on concepts of home, citizenship, and belonging. Her work centers historically marginalized communities while engaging with themes of addiction, fragmented identities, memory, collective/community amnesia, and Asian femme bodies. Her practice is influenced by queer, experimental, and underground harm reduction activist lineages and two decades of working with people experiencing homelessness, people who use drugs, justice-involved communities, immigrants, and communities of color. She is based in New York City.
During her residency, Lee worked with residents of the Red Wing Correctional Facility, and gave a reading of her work at Fair Trade Books.
